Another large concern is tick-borne diseases and heartworm. Your pet should be tested yearly for heartworms, known as a 4dx test. A 4dx only requires three drops of blood and tests for heartworms, Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. Always keep your pet on year-round prevention for ticks and heartworms.
